STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING 

The Excalibur varsity programs feature year-round programming based on sport specific Long-Term Athlete Development Models. This includes year round Strength & Conditioning programs designed to educate and train our student-athletes for optimal performance in competition. These program focus on developing strength, power, speed, agility, conditioning, exibility, injury prevention and management, recovery and nutrition. The Strength and Conditioning staff works with each teams' coach to identify the needs of their team, and engages student-athletes to foster an environment of excellence and accountability through testing, consultation and training.

Each of our teams receive comprehensive support from our strength and conditioning staff, working together to implement the most effective year-round training program. Through the guidance of strength training staff, student-athletes develop discipline, perseverance, goal setting, teamwork, mental toughness and work ethic, instilling habits that support excellence on the field and lead to better and healthier lives long after graduation.

Varsity lacrosse and rugby athletes at Trent University are the direct beneficiaries of a new partnership between Trent Athletics and Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO). The partnership focuses on building the training environment for Trent varsity athletes and includes support in the areas of sport science, strength and conditioning, sport nutrition, and sport psychology. The additional sport science services that CSIO will provide will be a key component to supporting our varsity student-athletes in their high performance pathway. CSIO is a key leader in providing sport science expertise for high performance athletes in Ontario.
