Trent wins Rideau Overall Trophy

Good showing of Trent crews at the Rideau. The culmination of successes yeaterday gave Trent University the total points championship trophy. Crews from McGill, UofT,Ottawa, Careltonand Queens battled for the points trophy. The varsity men's four of (l-r) in photo below won their race Brent Holmes, Richard Love, Jacob Heydon-Thomas, Mark Basterfield and coxed by Candice Cook. They also teamed up with Brian Burns, Brock O'Reilly, Scott Robertson and Issac Bell to win the men's varsity eight. "This looks like the strongest mens' crew Trent has boated" coach Ken Hoard has another 6 men vying for positions in this crew. Second place finishes to McGill in the lightweight mens eight and a win by the novice womens eight, in their first race helped in the points total.
