Women’s Soccer Team Travels to Carleton Tournament

Trent University's women's soccer team team attended the Carleton University indoor tournament on the March Break weekend. Trent reached the semifinal game on Sunday and lost in sudden death overtime after tying Brock University 0-0 in regulation time.

Trent Women had a record of four wins and one tie in round robin play. In game one Trent won 1-0 over Ottawa Fury U17 team on a goal by Amy Walsh. Trent came from behind with two goals by Walsh and Jenn Powless over St. Anthony's. The third game was a tie with Algonquin College 0-0. Trent beat Carleton Alumni 1-0 on a goal by Powless. Trent finished the tournament play with a huge 1-0 win over Carleton University on a glancing header by rookie Sarah Radford. Rachelle Beanlands a U17 National team guest player played well in net. 

Coach Joe Muldoon noted that the team had an exceptional showing at the Carleton tournament, and played with great heart and composure. The team defended well and scored timely goals.
