Alumni Golf Tournament Raises $13,000 for Student Bursaries

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

Led by Trent University President Bonnie Patterson, Chancellor Roberta Bondar and Board Chair Reid Morden, Trent alumni, faculty, staff, university suppliers and retired colleagues gathered at the Port Hope Golf Club for the Annual Alumni Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 15.

This year's tournament proceeds are directed to the PSB Wilson Bursary fund, which supports student athletes in financial need.

Alumni Director Tony Storey reported that 62 golfers took part in this year’s tournament. Clearsight Investment Program was the major sponsor, backed up by the thoughtful contributions of 22 hole sponsors. The tournament generated $6,500 for the Wilson bursary, which is matched by the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS).

One of the day's highlights was a hole-in-one by new graduate Rob Wolff. The tournament winners were Kevin Crux, Rick Brown, Doug Parker and Steve MacDonald.

Next year's tournament will be held September 13, 2008 in the same location.
