ROWING NEWS

The Trent University rowing team participated in their second competitive outing of the season on Sunday - the Head of the Rideau Regatta in Ottawa , looking to pick up where they had left off a week earlier in London. The team did not disappoint, producing a cornucopia of medals and excellent results. Gold medalists included the varsity lightweight men's eight, the varsity lightweight men's four, the varsity heavyweight women's eight, the open men's double, and the novice women's four. Silvers went to Matt Davidson and Christian Tuters in the varsity men's single and open men's single respectively, the varsity lightweight men's double (Shepherd), the varsity heavyweight women's four, the varsity heavyweight men's four, the varsity lightweight women's eight, and the junior varsity women's four.

Bronze was captured by the varsity lightweight men's double (Pringle), and the varsity lightweight women's four, and the novice women's eight (Hines). Other crews also posted strong results, falling just short of the medal podium.

The team will now prepare for its massive homecoming regatta, the Head of the Trent, to be held Saturday, October 4th on the Otonabee River. This will serve as the precursor to the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, the OUA Championships, and the CIS Championships, all of which will take place later in October and in early November.
