Summary:

Men’s Rugby was the story of the weekend as they firmly secured their OCAA title in a competitive game in Barrie vs. Georgian College this past Saturday. Elijah Adair, a senior member of the team, was named OCAA Player of the Year, and is very excited about the title. “It is a great honour to be recognized by the league. In rugby, a player can only be as good as his team. The rest of my team is who really makes me look good, and without them I could not be the player that I am.” A large number of players have been pushing for this title for the past four years – including a tough loss in the Gold Medal Game last year vs. Humber College – so this win was all the more meaningful.

Men’s & Women’s Volleyball travelled to George Brown College on Wednesday to face off against the Huskies. They returned to Peterborough with two sweep wins under their belts, with both the Men’s and Women’s teams winning their matches 3-0.

The Men’s & Women’s Volleyball teams also faced hometown rivals Fleming College Saturday. In the Women’s game it was bump, set, spike, sweep – as the team took the Fleming Knights 3 games to none. The match was heavily contested in the Men’s game, with the teams tied 1 each at the end of the second set. With the whole match running on back-and-forth points, the long game proved tiring for the Excalibur. Fleming took the following two sets to win the match 3-1. You can be sure that the Excalibur will be out for blood when they face Fleming for their last regular season home game on the 17th of February.
