This past weekend, the Women’s Lacrosse team finished their seasons in style at the OUA Championship tournament, hosted by UOIT.

Trent did not make it to the medal round, but capitalized in the 5th place game to beat Mcmaster University by a score of 10-3.

Upon completion of the game, the OUA gives away special awards to the top performers of the season. Trent’s Leah Ogilvie took home OUA Women’s Lacrosse Offensive MVP of the year, Trent Goaltender Denise Miller took home Defensive MVP of the year, and newbie Mikayla Hicks took home Rookie of the Year.

Coach Tori had this to say about the awards this weekend: “These three girls demonstrate the talent and character that is at Trent University. They are respected throughout the league as excellent players, and will be three players to watch moving into next season. [The awards are] a true statement to their dedication to the sport, and their ability to lead in each area of the field. I could not be more proud of these girls. The awards are much deserved.”

The Excalibur will train through the winter and eagerly await the challenges they will face next season. Remember to follow @TrentExcalibur on Twitter, for up-to-the-minute home game updates, and post-game away scores!

See you on the water, the field, or in the gym!
