Trent's varsity rowing club is recognized as one of the most prized and respected programs in the nation, consistently ranking among the top Canadian universities in competition each year.

Located on the banks of the Otonabee River in Peterborough, Ontario, Trent provides varsity rowers with daily training access to one of the best racing rivers in Canada. In the off-season, varsity rowers are able to keep in top shape through the use of outstanding land training facilities at the Trent Athletic Center. At Trent, you can stay in competitive form all year round.

With its prime location, Trent is also the perfect home for the Head of the Trent - the largest single-day rowing regatta in Canada. Held on Homecoming weekend each fall, this event draws more than 2000 competitors from across Canada and the United States. The Head of the Trent is also one example of Trent's strong relationship with the Peterborough Rowing Club, which is dedicated to providing both competitive and recreational rowing opportunities to the Peterborough community.

If you are interested in playing on the Trent Varsity Rowing Team for the upcoming 2013/2014 season, please contact one of our coaches, listed to the right.

In support of the local Peterborough community, the Trent Rowing Club collected an impressive 2,282 pounds of food for Kawartha FoodShare as part of a Thanksgiving food drive.

The result far exceeded the club’s goal to raise 1,631 pounds of non-perishables, the equivalent weight of the men’s heavy eight crew.

“The spirit of the Trent and Peterborough community has come alive through the efforts of the food drive in support of the Kawartha FoodShare,”
said Mary-Kate Bronson, a member of the Trent Rowing Club Executive, who helped organize the food drive. “It feels amazing to be able to say that we not only achieved our goal, but we surpassed it by 651 pounds. It also feels great to know that we are helping people in the community who need it most.”

The Trent University Rowing Club would like to express a huge thank-you to friends at City Hall, Nata’s Café, the Trent Athletics Centre, Bata Library, Blackburn Hall and the Peterborough Rowing Club for graciously providing drop off locations for the food drive this year. Thanks also goes out to the people at the Pig’s Ear Tavern who provided a venue for a fundraiser, which helped to raise another $400 to donate to the Kawartha Food Share.

Ms. Bronson added: “We would also like to thank everyone within the Trent and Peterborough community who supported and contributed to the food drive throughout the past few weeks. We have received so much enthusiasm from so many people, which has added greatly to the success of the food drive. Way to go everyone, we did it!”
