Trent Excalibur Men's Soccer Drop 3-1 Playoff Decision to Carleton Ravens

Excalibur complete best season in program history

The Trent Excalibur men's soccer team's 2025-26 season came to an end on Wednesday evening at TAGG Park in Ottawa at the hands of the No. 10 ranked Carleton Ravens. Carleton (7-1-5) defeated the Excalibur (6-6-1) 3-1, in Trent's first trip back to the OUA playoffs in nine years.

The experienced Ravens squad took control early with goals in the 15th and 20th minutes to take a 2-0 lead. The home team continued to apply constant pressure on Trent throughout the first half, but a couple of goal posts and the spectacular goalkeeping of the Excalibur's Owen Schultz (Peterborough, ON) kept them at bay.

The green and white cut the lead in half in the 35th minute with their first playoff marker since 2016 as Oliver Parratt (Uxbridge, ON) capitalized on a Ravens turnover and put a low strike into the back of the net. The half ended with Carleton holding a 2-1 advantage.

Trent came out strong in the second half and had a number of narrow misses as they pressed for the equalizer. Schultz continued his exceptional play in keeping the Ravens offense at bay. Unfortunately for the Excalibur, Carleton finally broke through in the 78th minute to extend their lead to 3-1 and held on for the victory.

Schultz was Trent's player of the match, making 13 saves on 16 Ravens shots. The Excalibur finished with five shots on goal.
