Excalibur Men's Lacrosse Punch Ticket to Baggataway Cup with Win Over Carleton Ravens

Trent to face Brock in quarter-finals November 7

The Trent Excalibur men's lacrosse team is heading back to the Baggataway Cup after a commanding 12–7 victory over the Carleton Ravens on Saturday afternoon at Justin Chiu Stadium.

The Excalibur capped off a strong regular season with an 8–2 record, finishing second place in the East Division with 16 points.

The Excalibur wasted no time asserting themselves on the field, jumping out to an early lead in Saturday's match. Mason Tardif (Peterborough, ON) opened the scoring early in the first quarter, setting the tone for what would be a big offensive day for the second-year attacker.
Trent continued to build momentum in the second quarter, with goals from Dallyn Rai (Edmonton, AB), Reed Chamberlain (Peterborough, ON), and another from Tardif, giving the Excalibur a comfortable 4-0 lead heading into halftime.

Carleton fought back in the third, scoring three quick goals to narrow the gap and make it a one-goal game. But the Excalibur offense came alive once again, answering with four straight tallies, two from Adam Hawrelak (Edmonton, AB), one from Tardif, and another from Rai, to reclaim control and energize the home crowd.

In the final frame, Trent's attack refused to slow down. Tardif notched his fourth goal of the game off a feed from Rai, followed by goals from Jordan Dool (Aurora, ON), Nick Fournier (Peterborough, ON), and Keegan Detweiler (Fergus, ON) to seal the win.
First-year Callan Baker (Peterborough, ON) held strong in net before giving way to Jackson Hainer (Peterborough, ON) in the closing minutes to finish off the victory.

Following the game, Curtis Conley (Ottawa, ON) was presented with the Peterborough Glass and Windows Player of the Game Award, recognizing his leadership, commitment, and contributions to the Excalibur program throughout the season and over his six-year career with the team.

With the win, Trent officially punches its ticket to the 2025 Baggataway Cup, hosted November 7–9 at Terry Fox Stadium in Brampton. The national championship tournament will feature the top university lacrosse teams from across Canada as they battle for the CUFLA title.
The Excalibur will open their Baggataway Cup campaign against the Brock Badgers in the first quarter-final matchup, set for Friday, November 7 at 4 p.m. at Terry Fox Stadium.
